What is with people that assume that whatever it is that they have to say is MUCH more important that whatever it is that you happen to be doing? Including being in the middle of a sentence while talking with someone else? It irritates me to no end when someone walks into my office and just starts talking to me, and expecting me to listen no less, without so much as a by your leave or excuse me or anything else. Half the time this happens, I'm actually on the damn phone with a client when this happens.
More aggravating than that is the attitude that I get at times...as in "How dare you be on the phone or doing something else! You just HAVE to listen to ME!" and the look that is associated with this attitude is priceless. It really makes you want to reach up and smack the person upside the head with the closest heavy blunt object you can find...preferably something that will make a very satisfying "thunking" sound.
People these days seem to have lost all sense of common courtesy in the office. I don't know what is with the whole "me" thing, but dammit, it really is all about ME.
